It's a cold, quiet night.

Rei shivers as he slips through an alleyway, holding his cloak tighter around himself in an attempt to keep warm. A full moon hangs high above him, bathing the streets in its dim, pale light. For the most part, the town seems deserted. Every now and then, though, the soft voices of drunken men float through the air, singing the melody of a bard's latest song.

His breathing is fast, frantic. He knows he's being followed, and his pursuer is gaining on him. He doesn't have long to find somewhere to hide. He doesn't have time to follow his next train of thought, however, before he runs into something in front of him.

"I-I'm sorry!" he says on instinct, quickly scrambling to get a few steps away from you.

His heart is racing, and he keeps turning around to look behind him nervously.
